11 Office Appropriate Spring Sandals – Under $100
Spring is near (I FEEL IT!) and we’re ready to break out our favorite sandals as well as some new trends. See our picks for our favorite office sandals and how to style them! Did I mention they’re all under $100?
We get a lot of questions about what amount of “foot” is allowed in the office. I remember the old, old, rule of basically no toes at all but in this day and age, we’re allowing ourselves a little more (toe) wiggle room especially since offices have changed drastically. Many offices have moved away from business professional and now teeter the line of business casual and casual. But, with such a vague guideline, when it comes to summer shoes, what’s appropriate?
See our top picks for sandals that are officially office approved and under $100!
Left to Right by Row: Black and White Gingham | Yellow Flat Slide | Black Block Heel | White Flat Sandal | Nude Heeled Sandal | Blue Patterned Heel | Yellow Mule (40% Off!) | Blue Slingback | Red Ankle Tie | Coral Scallops | Cheetah Flat
Sandal Trends We Love:
Block Heels – I’ve gone full block heel crazy on the sandal and non-sandal shoe. My main reasoning is that I can wear a block heel FOR DAYS. Ok, well maybe not days, but I can definitely manage the full work day without having to bring walking shoe with me to the office. They’re comfortable, come in multiple styles, and I can wear them outside of work as well. I have a go-to in both black and nude then, of course, some more “fun” pairs for the weekend.
Slides & Mules – The 90’s are coming back strong with this one. I’m sure everyone remembers those black platform slides and while we’ve definitely made an upgrade, let us not forget where we came from. I’ve worn this style most with skinny jeans, culottes and a flared midi skirt but that doesn’t mean don’t give other pieces a go. The mule can have a slipper feel so don’t be afraid of embellishments or bright colors. They’re still better than the $5 Old Navy flip-flops you have in every color.
Slingbacks are BACK – Now, Maya is thrilled about this style making a comeback. I’ve only linked one style but that’s because I’m saving the others for something special (stay tuned). But this style is coming back strong in different colors and features, like bows and embellishments. Do some research and grab a pair to go with your ankle pants. We’re working on something special with slingbacks so come back soon for more.
A few Tips:
- Aim for a heel that’s at least 2 inches but less than 4 inches. The office can be tricky so you don’t want to send the wrong message wearing an extremely tall shoe. Plus, your feet will ache.
- It’s good hygiene to take care of your toes so if you’re into nail polish, go with a nude, soft pink, red, or even lilac for the Spring. Steer clear of designs especially since you’re wearing sandals. People are more likely going to look at your toes so you want to be as professional as possible. Even if a polish isn’t your thing, clean and clear toes can do the job just as fine.
- Wearing a skirt to the office? I probably sound like a nun but if your fingertips go past your skirt hem, go for a flat OR nix that skirt in the office. Use what you know about your office space and make changes accordingly. More professional spaces go for nothing higher than a knee length pencil skirt and relaxed offices are at your discretion. Just keep the rule in mind, higher the hem, shorter the heel.
Which pair are you wearing this Spring? I have the Yellow Mule waiting to be broken out of the box so check back to see how I styled it!
So many cute prints and bright colors. Sandal season means I gotta get my toes done :)
