Five Fun and Functional Casual Friday Looks
Whether you work in an office that’s casual on a daily basis, or one that only offers casual clothes on Fridays, these are five killer looks that won’t steer you wrong! They’re affordable, stylish and functional. Who says you have to save your fun outfits for the weekend?
Happy Friday!
I’m really excited about today’s post for a few reasons. One being that the style inspo I’m giving you all in this post allows for you to really hone in on your personal style, which Sydney and I always advocate. Another reason is that although “Casual Friday” is starting to become more “casual every day”, you still want to look stylish and well put together, right? Right! Lastly, it can be easy to become uninspired by what you currently have in your wardrobe. You see these clothes every day and after a while you can start to feel like you have nothing to wear. The looks I’ve curated consist of pieces you probably already have in your wardrobe, so this should help create a fresh perspective and bring new life to your pieces.
Let’s get started!
First up is the look I’m currently wearing. I love this look for a casual day at the office because it’s so easy to put together! This look is a prime example of elevated every day clothing. At the core, I’m just wearing a black blouse and a pair of jeans. Details like the puff sleeves and fringe trim are what really take this look to the next level. I got these jeans as part of our Zara haul when they had a great sale over the summer and I wish I had gotten another pair. These jeans fit me so well, and they’re such great quality! I got them on sale for $30 but I’d consider paying full price for Zara jeans, they’re that good. My blouse is from JCPenney and my mom actually picked this out. JCPenney is a good place to start if you want to build your work wardrobe for less. They’re reasonably priced ad carry some brands that will last you a good while. You all know I’m a Shoedazzle girl and I’m still in love with these black booties I ordered from them last fall. They look super cute and trendy with the fringe jeans. Needless to say, this look was a hit at the office.
This next look is great for a cross between trendy, casual and chic. You’ll be comfortable in a sweater dress but you’re ready for happy hour or a dinner date after work is done. Sydney and I are both into the sock bootie trend this season but you could opt for a flat boot if you wanted. Find similar pieces below.
Nothing says casual like a chambray shirt. For this look, I dressed it up just a tad with this wrap skirt and statement necklace. Add some dimension to your look with neutral toned accessories. If you wanted to switch it up, you can easily recreate this look with a pencil skirt.
This look is giving me “casual fall layers but still put together” vibes. Plaid and houndstooth are very on trend this season and a great way to incorporate prints is layering pieces. The vest does give the more clean cut look so you can keep it simple with a long sleeve shirt and a good pair of jeans. I do’n’t recommend distressed denim for work, even in a casual setting. Opt for a classic pair of jeans instead.
Last but not least we have this classic, cozy look with a pop of color. If you prefer more safe options for work or if understated is your style, this look is for you. A nice oxford shirt paired with a cardigan is casual and comfortable and you can get a *little* adventurous with a leopard print pump.
I hope this post was helpful and you’ll be inspired to kick your casual Fridays up a notch. Comment below which look is your favorite!
Until next time,
