How to Style Leather Leggings for Work This Season

I got mine during a sale at Express and they were such a steal I decided to keep both. Leather leggings are one of those timeless trends that I doubt will ever go out of style. They’re such a versatile piece that you can style for any occasion! Today’s post will be focused on styling them for work but don’t forget the options are endless!
Start with a classic top
You know those wardrobe staples we’re always talking about (like in our eBook)? This is your chance to bring them in! A classic top like a white button down shirt or blouse is the perfect base layer to style with leather leggings. They’re crisp, sophisticated and combat the inherent “edgy” vibe leather leggings give off. The puff sleeve blouse I’m wearing is from H & M and is a slightly more dramatic take on the classic white button down. This is an example of looking for small, unique details in your pieces that speak to your personal style. You can apply this principle to any neutral colored top as well.
Layer it up
Everyone loves fall fashion because of the layers right? Well, layer up your top with pieces that pull your look together. You all know I’m a huge fan of blazers so that’s often my go-to for layering. For this look, I opted for a sleeveless shell top from Marks and Spencer that gives the illusion of a sweater vest. Get creative with what you have in your closet to recreate trendy styles without spending the extra coins! Blazers, sweaters and dusters can all be used to make your leather leggings work friendly.
Opt for a muted color scheme
When you keep the color palette simple your look is more likely to be well-received. Too many loud colors, patterns or textures can be off-putting depending on your work environment. Neutrals are the color scape of the season, so it makes sense to play them up vs. loud/bright colors. If neutrals are more your speed anyway, this is a great opportunity for you to try a new kind of look while staying within your comfort zone with colors you like.
