Polka Dot Pants and Classic Button Down

We love a classic look with a twist! Today’s post features the classic button down and dress pant combo with a flare! These polka dot pants were a great deal and are the perfect addition to your wardrobe for any season.

Hello Lovelies!

You all know we like to put our own personal touches on classic work looks and today’s look is no exception. As I’ve previously mentioned, I love polka dots! I can’t explain why I just think it’s such a cute pattern and they always grab my attention. I was in Ross not long ago, and as I was browsing the racks these polka dot pants jumped out at me and I just had to have them. Styling printed pants can sometimes be a challenge, so I chose to keep this look simple with a classic button down blouse.

If you don’t shop at Ross, you have NO IDEA what you’re missing out on! They have a great selection of clothes for every occasion and the prices are unbeatable. A coworker of mine introduced me to Ross a few years ago for work dresses and I’ve been in love ever since! I’m sure you all haven’t forgotten my $10 summertime LBD I got from them last year, that dress is still going strong and I’ve added a few more to my collection.

These pants are Anne Klein and only cost me $25 (they retail for $60)! Good dress pants are essential for your work wardrobe and of course mixing it up with different colors and prints keeps your work looks fresh. If you can get them on sale, or from stores like Ross where you save 50% + on the retail cost, you can stock your closet and not have buyer’s remorse. Every time I shop at Ross I’m proud that I got so many pieces for the same price that I would have only gotten one or two at a more expensive store. Although I’m saving money, I’m not skimping on quality, Anne Klein is a great quality brand and Ross has many more!

Since I am going for a more toned down look today, I paired my pants with a nice, crisp button down blouse from H & M, I got this and my striped one together with a 2 for $25 deal. Nice button down blouses like this one are also a great staple for your wardrobe because they can be dressed up with a suit or dressed down for business casual and always look well put together. H & M has a pretty nice work section and you can catch deals like I did pretty often. I do recommend buying a size or two larger than you usually wear because they fit snug in the bust and waist. With my blouse being solid white, it doesn’t clash with my polka dot pants, thus they can be the focal point of my look.

Since it is spring, one piece that I reach for almost daily (weather permitting) is my mauve leather jacket. I caught this on sale from The Limited last year and it’s one of my favorite jackets for transitional weather. I don’t know about y’all but I’m going to miss The Limited so much! I was always able to find little gems like this and many others when they had great sales. I also think a leather jacket makes any outfit just a little bit cooler. It adds the perfect amount of edge to my preppy polka dot pants and blouse when I’m out and around town.

I finished off my look with my black pumps and a jeweled statement necklace. You could absolutely go for nude pumps, or something like a mustard yellow if you’re feeling bold. That would really add a nice pop of color if you wanted another point of interest to your look.
