Work Wear Staple: Timeless Tweed
There’s nothing better than a timeless piece of clothing that can get you from season to season. With Fall on the way and Summer still lingering, it’s important to have some pieces to last. Read more below about my love for tweed and how I’m styling this piece this season.
Hello Loves! Do you have a trend that you just absolutely love and can never seem to get enough of? I know what you’re thinking, “Dang, Sydney, more culottes?” Ha ha ha… no. This time around, I wanted to talk about a great workplace trend that never ever goes out of style and will always demand attention. That style is none other than… tweed.
When I was younger, my Mom bought me the cutest pink tweed blazer. I’ll never forget it. It was a few sizes too big but it was so well made and made me look like the perfect little business woman. I was probably the only 9-year-old who had one but my Mom had a way of determining trends BEFORE they were even a thought on the runway. Now, granted she was about 15 years too early on the trend especially since there weren’t many 9-year-olds on the Chanel runway. Nonetheless, tweed is a must have fabric and style of mine for Fall in the workplace.
Pro-Tip: Keeping a lint roller at your desk is a must if you’re a pet owner.
You all might as well call this blog Sydney Loves Culottes because I’m never getting over these. I love this pair too since they’re a more tailored look and look really good with a blazer. The cut isn’t as loose as my other options but you really can’t go wrong with a classic tailored look.
Another great feature of this pieces is that it has multiple colors that make it go perfectly with a bunch of different bottoms. I’ve worn it already with navy pencil skirts, red orange pixie pants, and this fall I’m planning to wear it over either a turtleneck or an oxford blouse. The key to getting most out of your wardrobe is figuring out multiple ways to wear one piece. Adding and subtracting layers is a super easy way to do that.
