How to Transition from Winter to Spring – Camel Colors

The year is moving right along and with that means it’s time for some transitional styles to get you through those cool Spring mornings. See the full look featuring my new favorite neutral!

As much as I love Chicago, I will admit, this weather is WEIRD! Chicago has this thing where it’s either going to be extremely cold until June OR we warm up quickly and hang around at 40 degrees. In today’s climate, that’s what we’re currently getting. Dressing for weather transitions can be difficult if you don’t have the proper tools. The mornings are fairly cold and you’ll definitely want to bundle up but it’s not quite parka weather in March. When this happens, I love playing with thicker fabrics underneath and wearing a lighter coat on top. Cue this simple camel coat which will be sure to be my Winter/Spring uniform.Monochromatic, Best Work Looks, Spring Work Looks

I got this jacket from SheIn a while ago but it’s so timeless that it’s become a staple in my wardrobe. I always get a lot of compliments on this coat even though it only cost me around $30! If you want to make something look expensive, I highly suggest wearing a monochromatic color scheme. There’s just something about a look being so simple and put together that really allows it to be elevated.

It’s great throughout all seasons since each of these pieces can be paired with a dark or lighter color depending on the time of year. For example, I think the pants would look great with a soft pink blouse for Summer and the top could go well with a black leather skirt for winter. Accessories can either make or break and outfit so it’s important to have pieces that go with all your outfits. Having a staple shoe and bag are key to work attire since those get the most wear. My Kate Spade is a favorite of mine and it has the capacity to hold my laptop, water bottle, and a pair of sneakers for my evening work out. If you were looking to “spice it up” I would totally bring in a bold red/orange bag and shoe combo to create a pop!

I’ve really been into pants outside of the ankle category so wide leg is my next go to. They make a bold statement and I love the way the move. This particular pair is a heavier one which is perfect for those brisk winter mornings and if your office is freezing all the time like mine.
