Red is a color of power! Make a bold statement at the office with this eye catching business professional ensemble. Continue reading for details on this look.

Hello Lovelies!

It’s Monday and that means it’s time to get our week off to a great start! I know many of us dread Mondays but the truth is you shouldn’t! One way to get over your Monday blues is with a bold look to slay the workplace. A head to toe great look always gives me the extra pep in my step I need to get my week off to the best possible start.

Going bold at the office is always big risk to take, especially if you work in a conservative environment. I’m lucky enough to have a workplace that allows for some flexibility with wardrobe. If your office is like mine, then you can absolutely pull off this look!

I got this skirt a few years ago on sale at ASOS. I must admit, I don’t wear it often because it is so RED but I’m finding ways to work it into rotation. The color and style are the reason I was drawn to it so I may as well make the statement I intended to upon purchase. For today’s look, I wanted something that was very professional yet attention grabbing. A great way to pull a bold piece into a professional look is to add subtle, classic business attire pieces. A timeless black blazer and this polka dot blouse were just what I needed to pull this look together.

You all know I live for a good blazer. In my opinion, you can throw a blazer over pretty much anything and look more professional. This blazer from H & M cost me about $35 and is my favorite black blazer because it has a good structure but is still very comfortable to wear. Black always complements red very well but you could also wear a grey blazer with this skirt and it’d look just as good. This black and white polka dot blouse is one of my all time favorite work pieces. I’ve got a slight obsession with this pattern as is but this particular blouse has such a classy look! JCPenney is where I scored this gem. JCP has quality work pieces at an affordable price, if you’re looking to fill your closet without breaking the bank.

My red skirt is bold in color but overall, it’s still a fairly simple piece. The polka dots add subtle dimension to my look without being way too busy.

This whole look says “I came to slay today!” and that’s exactly how you should feel when you walk into work. This is a look that’s great for a presentation or speaking engagement. When you need to grab and keep your audience’s attention, bold colors like this red ensure that all eyes are on you! For my ladies in a more conservative office space, you can do a variation of this look by going with a skirt that’s a deeper burgundy or plum instead of bright red. It’s important to know how to navigate your company’s dress code in an appropriate way but still maintain your personal style.

This skirt is a great length for work and it does have a little edgy detail. The split on the side is a non-traditional zipper that can go up fairly high. I keep it lower for work but having the split open does allow me to walk easier since this is a structured piece. I recently got this satchel bag from Shoedazzle & I LOVE IT! The camel color is the perfect neutral tone to take me into spring. Don’t be afraid to have accessories of various neutral shades. Earth tones are always a safe bet, and as you see, it doesn’t clash with my bold look at all!

Of course I had to bring the look home with my all time favorite little black pumps! Since we’re getting a warm streak here in Chicago I can slowly start putting away my boots and breaking out my heels again! You could also do a fun flat with this look if that’s more your speed.

I hope this look inspires you to slay the office every day! When you look good, you feel good & it shows! Don’t be afraid to go bold and stand out!

Until next time!
