If you read our winter essentials post, you saw that tights/hosiery was on that list of must-haves. I’m really excited to share with you all a review of the Sheertex “indestructible” sheers! This is a brand we’ve had our eye on for a while (Sydney actually already owns two pair) for a few reasons. The main reason we’ve been so invested in the Sheertex brand is the allure of pantyhose that don’t rip.
I don’t know about you all, but I have at LEAST five pairs of pantyhose in my drawer that have a run or hole in them right now. If you can relate, you know how frustrating it is to constantly go through hosiery on a regular basis because you weren’t gentle enough. I looked to Sheertex to solve this problem for me when I tested out their sheers for a week. Keep reading to find out my honest thoughts of the product.
First Impressions
I chose to go with a pair of “Shaping Sheers” in the shade Dark. The reason why is because I go through flesh toned pantyhose the most, so I wanted a strong pair that I could easily transition from winter to spring. When I first opened the package, they were a little more opaque than I expected so I was unsure of how they’d look on. I took this with a grain of salt because I figured the material had to be thicker than traditional pantyhose if they were going to be up to 10x stronger. Although the material was thicker, these sheers feel very lightweight! I was pleasantly surprised that they weren’t hot or uncomfortable. We were off to a pretty good start so far!
The Wear Test
Two major issues that I typically have with hosiery: they rip when I’m putting them on if my nails are long and they tend to cling to skirts in a weird way. I paid really close attention to how these sheers “behaved” when I wore them with dresses and skirts of different materials. Jersey material seems to have the most cling issues but Sheertex didn’t fail me in that department. They also proved to be pretty sturdy on mornings when I was rushing, roughly pulling them on with long nails with not a hole in sight. I’m not sure how Sheertex does it, but these were honestly the warmest light weight pantyhose I’ve ever worn. I spent a few cold mornings waiting on the train or bus and I felt like I had on my fleece leggings. If you live anyplace where the weather is as unpredictable as Chicago, this is a feature you’d appreciate too!
Final Thoughts
Overall, it’s pretty safe to say I’m here for the Sheertex sheers! So far, they’ve held up to their claims of being the toughest sheers in the world and I was pleasantly surprised by the other positive features I experienced. I do wish the style and color I got was a little more sheer, with an expanded range for darker skin tones but I believe that can come with time. The Dark shade matched my skintone almost perfectly but they may not suit someone darker than me who is looking for a good flesh tone option. These sheers are worth the investment, there are plenty of styles and sizes to choose from and they have a longer lifespan than your average hosiery!

i bought the Sheertex sheer leggings shortly after they opened their plant in Bracebridge Ontario. These footless pantyhose have been one of my best investments i work out wear.
I have worn these canoeing, hiking, white water rafting, jogging and for lounging around the house and they are still good as new. I would recommend Sheertex Sheers to anybody that wears pantyhose on a regular basis.
Really?! I love the pantyhose but now I’ll have to venture out to try these for working out! Thanks for stopping by!
