Trends at Work: Pearl Hair Clips

We’ve been seeing this fun and classy trend everywhere! Here are a few quick and easy styles you can create for work with pearl hair clips that compliment natural hair.

Hello Loves! We rarely give hairstyles the spotlight on the blog but there’s no better time than the present! Pearl hair clips have been all the rave for a few months and we’ve seen them everywhere from the catwalk to the sidewalk. If you’re like us and want to join in on the fun here are few hairstyles you can try for work that incorporate pearl hair clips.

For all my fellow curly girls out there, I wanted to focus on low tension styles for this post. Hair pins in general can pull and tug on natural hair, ripping out strands if you’re not careful. The less tension, the better and safer for your hair.

The first style is quick and easy to achieve. Take your classic twist out or wash-and-go and add a few hair clips on the side where you part your hair. Play around with different sized hair clips for added interest.

This next style is great for when your twist our or wash and go is getting a little old. Leave a small section of hair out on each side to simulate bangs then pull the rest of your hair into a low, loose ponytail or bun. Add a single, large pearl hair clip and boom you’re done. My hair isn’t voluminous by nature so I made a point not to smooth my hair down to achieve more volume. I also didn’t wrap the ponytail holder around my hair to keep my ponytail nice and fluffy.

This last style adds a fun twist on a classic look. Leave a section of hair out in the front for bangs, then pull the rest of your hair up into a high bun. Add a few pearl hair clips of varying sizes underneath your bun. If you tend to have hairs that escape your high bun, this is a great use of the hair clips. You can keep any flyaway hairs in place in a trendy and stylish way! If you want to play around with your bangs you can make small twists and take them down once dry for a different texture.
