Business Casual Reverse – Wide Leg Pants & Chambray Top

Wide Leg Pants have been a great go-to for my wardrobe and when paired with a chambray shirt, it’s a perfect combination for an easy business casual look with versatile pieces.
Hello loves! In all honesty, when I titled this post I started to write Champagne instead of Chambray but that’s what a packed week will do to you! How about you all? Been knocking out the to-do list? On the style side, I have been seriously crushing on wide leg pants, like this pair from The Limited, and have been taking every single opportunity to wear them. They’re comfortable, look great with heels and flats, and depending on the fabric, they can go from season to season. I’ve been thinking of ways to wear mine as often as possible during these Spring months and this particular look leans toward the more casual side.

In the words of “Mean Girls” “Raise your hand if you’ve ever been victimized by Regina George Business Casual?” *raises both hands*. Business casual is probably the most common and confusing wardrobe and with so many different styles nowadays, it can be pretty difficult to figure out what works and what doesn’t. One simple way to actually make it work, is to mix a more professional item with a casual piece.

Remember when I mentioned these can be dressed up or down? Well in a Business Casual world, with such a tailored piece (see those creases?), the perfect way to make it dress it down is to add a casual touch and denim is the MOST casual. This time, instead of jeans and a top (that scream I didn’t want to get dressed today) go ahead and flip it and put the jean up top to switch it up.

I’ve had this top for a while now and it’s one of my go-to pieces when I’m feeling casual. I always get a bit bored when I don’t have a pattern if I’m keeping my color pallet simple. This chambray top has a simple floral print and to add to the mix, I added a pop of color as well!I scored these cute sandals from the Gilt City sale for only $19! I’ll share the details of the shoes next time but they’re a bright red-orange, with ankle wraps, and a mini block heel so they are made perfect for all day wear!

So, who’s feeling this combo? What are some of your favorite ways to wear business casual? Be sure to leave your comments below!
