Fifty Shades of Grey – And Blue

Spring is here and we’re wearing this pastel office look today! This soft monochromatic look featuring shades of grey and blue for an office look ready for Spring!

Hello Loves! It’s another week in the office and we’re ready to tackle it as stylish-ly as possible! We’ve been warming up a little bit every now and then and I’m just itching to get out of tights and into bare leg dresses, culottes (because they are my true passion), and some ankle pants! I’m sharing with you all this pastel office look featuring tones of grey and blue for the office when the weather warms up!

If you’re subscribed to our e-mails (Check your sidebar!) you saw last week’s look sporting this gorgeous powder blue tank sweater with this hunter green jacket. I absolutely love having versatile pieces in my closet especially one’s that can work across many seasons. This one is a score from the Macy’s sale department and I’m so glad I caught it! It’s the Alfani brand which has a mix of high and low priced items and amazing work wear. From blouses to boots, men’s to women’s, professional to casual, Alfani has it all! I normally wait to catch their items on sale and I’ve been getting lucky as you can see! I paid no more than $20 for this item and it’s a great addition to my sweater collection. (This is not an ad I just got really excited)

I bought both the slacks and the sweater at the same time and I honestly wasn’t sure about them. Some times, ankle dress pants (i.e., not extremely fitted ones) look a little funny and gather weird at the bottom. I think it all really has to do with length and making sure they aren’t too long or short for your legs. And remember, if something doesn’t fit you can always get it tailored! Anyway, these are Sydney approved (if you’re around 5’5″) and they are definitely getting put into wardrobe rotation. The material is soft but still structured and holds its shape. I’m a huge fan of the Anne Klein brand for workwear and catching this pair for under $25 I couldn’t pass them up for this pastel office look!

I’ve found that greys and blues go very well together since they can basically morph into the same shade. It’s a perfect way to get a monochromatic look without having to find the perfect matching shade. While I love the combination, I couldn’t resist to add in some patterns and texture to the look which brings me to these blue snakeskin pumps! I grabbed these a while ago from JustFab since they were such a fun piece to add into my wardrobe and I had no idea that they would go so perfectly with this outfit! Of course you could keep things simple and add in a nude heel instead but I needed a fun “surprise” at the bottom of the outfit.

  1. Luv the pastel blue. Makes a cloudy, rainy, Chicago day seem filled with sunshine. The shoes are too cute. Where did you get those?
