Wow! It’s been almost two years since I first posted this look! Whenever we take a look at our analytics, this post is consistently in our top 5 traffic posts of every month. I kid you not! The crazy thing is, these photos were some of my least favorite at the time because I just wasn’t crazy about how they turned out. However, I realized that since this post is consistently gaining traffic, that means you all still love paper bag waist pants as much as I do!

What a difference two years makes right? The first time I wore these pants I paired the with a double layered sweater and button down shirt combo. This time around, I’m going for a more adult and sophisticated look. The pinstripe button down top I’m wearing is actually that striped summer dress from a while back! We are no stranger to turning a dress into a top; we actually highly recommend it because functionality is important!

Who would have thought that these $7 impulse purchase pants would stand the test of time? I’m pleasantly surprised that paper bag waist pants have pretty much stayed on trend since this post first went live. We all know fashion and style can be very hot and cold-“One day you’re in, and the next you’re out” (name that movie). When you have pieces in your wardrobe that are “trendy” but continue to keep traction, you can easily evolve them with your style. My style has gotten a little more mature so I’m absolutely feeling the sophisticated drama of draping a coat or jacket over my look to pull it all together. This coat is from ASOS and I snagged it as a birthday gift to myself. It only costs $38 and it has a detachable fur collar! I’ve been wearing it almost daily since I’ve purchased it because it’s fashionable AND warm!
