Pleated Pants and Tweed Blazer-Bold Fall Essentials

Just because it’s fall doesn’t mean you have to hide under bulky layers. This combo of pleated pants, a tweed blazer and a pop of fall color is just what you need to take your work look to the next level.

Hello Lovelies!

I’m actually kind of mourning our Indian Summer that ended way too soon. Now fall is in full swing and for Chicagoans that means it might as well be winter. With the cold, rainy weather it’s easy to just want to throw on a big sweater and drudge out to work. Oh, but you know we’re not about that life over here! We’re all about showing you how to utilize your wardrobe to your best ability and slay the office daily!

Today’s look is another where we’re pulling trendy, street style-esque pieces into the office. I’ve been living for pleats for a while now so when I got these pleated pants from H&M I got the warm and fuzzies. I’m a fan of the small pleats these pants sport and they’re so comfortable! I like anything that I can throw on real quick and still look good. Pleated pants do just that. They’re a mix between edgy and sophisticated, which makes them versatile.

I paired my pleated pants with a nice tweed blazer. Some layers are necessary this time of year, especially if you’re wearing a top that transitions from summer to fall like I am. For me, blazers always pull a look together and can instantly dress it up. Your blazer also doesn’t have to match perfectly with your bottoms. I pulled this blazer out of my closet by mistake but I loved how well it complimented my pants. This tweed with leather accents also pulls my look together without making it look boring.

I’m trying to get better at wearing shoes that completely cover my feet when it’s cold out. I’m notorious for trying to wear heels and flats year round and I wind up freezing my toes off. Thanks to ShoeDazzle I found some really cute chunky ankle boots that I’ve been wearing nonstop. They’re a simple, faux suede boot, so I can easily wear these for work or play.

I added a pop of color to my look with this lace embellished, rust colored blouse. This is another ASOS clearance steal that I believe I got for less than $10. It accents my pleated pants nicely, since they’re wide leg I needed to choose a blouse that wouldn’t make me look large all over. This blouse has a modest fit so it’s not super tight but it fits will enough to offset the volume of the pants. I always recommend trying on a few different styles of blouse with pleated pants because you never know what will wind up working for you!
