Timeless Work Dress

We like to mix it up for work a lot but you can never go wrong with a few timeless pieces. Today we’re highlighting a timeless work dress that will always be a power move.

Hello Lovelies!

Today I’m sharing with you all a timeless dress for the office. Sydney and I love to push the envelope when it comes to our professional wardrobe but we also understand that sometimes less is more. Part of navigating the corporate world is knowing when you can play up your wardrobe and when you should tone it down. It’s very important to have timeless, neutral pieces to wear for things like corporate visits, interviews, or if you work in a conservative space.

This Calvin Klein dress was gifted to me by a close friend but you can get similar styles from stores like Nordstrom Rack, Marshall’s and Burlington. The neutral colors and subtle design of this dress make it a timeless piece for the work week. I’d usually wear something like this when we’re having a corporate visit at our office or when I have a presentation.

The style is feminine but not too fitted so it’s appropriate for any and all professional settings. I really like this dress for summer because the fabric is light and so are the colors. I find that many dresses of this style are made of more hefty materials and feature darker colors that are better for fall and winter.

Since the dress is sleeveless I’d highly recommend pairing it with a blazer. Of course, I chose my forever trusty black blazer, mostly because black is a slight accent color so it paired better than say a beige blazer. These two timeless pieces together create the look of a power suit, which is a viable alternative to wearing a pantsuit in 90 degree weather.
