The temps in Chicago have been up and down but when they’re down the bitter cold, sleet and snow leave their mark. Fleece Leggings
Okay so, I purchased a pair of fleece leggings a few years ago and my life was forever changed! I loved them so much, I went back and bought two more pairs. Fleece leggings are a could weather essential that you can layer under just about anything. Your favorite work dresses and skirts don’t have to be pushed to the back of the closet anymore! You can wear fleece leggings under them during your commute only or all day with a pair of boots. I promise, once you try these you’ll love them as much as I do!
Winter Hosiery
Tights and pantyhose are the OG cold weather essential. I opt for tights when heavy layering isn’t necessary. Hosiery provides the perfect mix between style and practicality. With so many designs to choose from, it’s easy to keep your winter work style intact and stay warm.
Cold Weather Boots
I can’t give you all a cold weather essentials list and NOT have boots on here. Cold weather boots are a must have and you have to make sure you’re getting a quality pair. I love a comfy pair of Uggs as much as the next girl, but the classic styles are not made for trekking through snow and ice. Raise your hand if you’ve been a victim of slipping in a pair of Uggs *raises hand*. You need a good pair of boots that have a warm lining and good traction. That way, your feet are warm and your walks to and from the office are less of a safety hazard.
Cold Weather Accessories
This should go without saying but cold weather accessories are a must! I’m talking hats, gloves, scarves and all the things our mothers made us wear in our youth. I found the best pair of thick knit gloves at Target for $25 and my hands thank me daily! Get yourself some some quality cold weather accessories and don’t leave the house without them. You’re going to need to keep the wind and snow from whipping in your face during your morning commute.
